Describe how social policy helps and hinders the goal of prevention in human services.
Social policy is a plan or action of government agencies to improve society, including guidelines, principles, and legislation, associated with the study of social welfare, and its relationships to politics and society. The purpose is to effort to hand social distress and improve human welfare and to meet the explicit needs of the individual like education, health, poverty, social security for the unemployed or retiree and housing for the homeless. Social policy is disturbed with the ways societies transverse the world meets human needs for security, education, work, health, and well-being. The social policy analyses the different roles which are the family, civil society, education, housing, unemployment support, pensions, and of course health. In every society, there must exist some type of social problem to solve these problems the government is always voicing policies in response to them and in relation to the objectives of growth and the well-being of society.
Gratefully to the social policy in the human service to assist those in need that is widely needed are The Temporary Assistance for Need Families (TANF) and
substance abuse to both adolescents and adults. Gradually, the social policy hinders the goal of prevention human services whenever they changed their laws, as they
set a framework of rewards and sanctions that conduit behavior. To conclude agreeing with Burger (2018) that no matter what is behind social policy society faces
several kinds of abnormal issues and to decrease social failures, therefore programs should be created by influencing policy and implement services satisfying the
social norm. Burger (2018) states ”risk is always involved when fighting for the rights of those in need when attempting to affect policy”.Yet, social policies may not
succeed if the police are not being implemented.
