Part One Every course you take is an investment in the “Business of You.” Take a moment to reflect on what you’ve learned over the last 10 weeks and answer the following: How will you apply what you have learned in this course in your professional and personal life? What challenges did you have in this course, and how did you grow from them? Reminders: Cite the textbook to support your response. Part Two Respond to classmateÂ’s post (Destiny) Hello everyone, In my professional life I can apply what I have learned in this class by understanding that, “Being ethical is important to the individual, the organization, and the global marketplace in todayÂ’s business climate.” (Lawrence & Weber, 1) This helps me to move forward with integrity in every job that I do. I can better manage teams and encourage the policies and procedures that need to be followed and explain why they are necessary within the business. In my personal life I can utilize the knowledge of consumer protection. “Safeguarding consumers while continuing to supply them with the goods and services they want, at the prices they want, is a prime social responsibility of business.” (Lawrence & Weber, 1) This helps me to better understand the level of liability that companies have that I may purchase goods and services from. The challenges I had in this course were very minimal, as I found all of the information very helpful and useful in more ways than one. I can better understand the importance of a diverse workforce and how that can create a healthy work culture. Even more importantly I can see how a business and a community can either choose to work together or against each other. Furthermore, the policies and practices of businesses need change as the companies grow and change, as well as the environment with careful thought and consideration. Sources: 1.
