1) Write a short paragraph to explain what “deviance” means to you. What comes to mind when you think of the word? Provide an example.
2) We have a lot to cover in this course! Think about the efforts you plan to work on in the course that can help you be successful. List 3 things that you can control for ensuring success in the course. Please do not name the outcomes you want. “Getting an A” is not an effort, it’s an outcome. What will you do to work on earning the score you want?
3) What do you hope to gain from the course? While we will work to meet the learning outcomes defined in the syllabus, write at least a few substantive sentences explaining some things you are hoping to get out of your studies of social deviance.
